Belle Maartensz has always had a penchant for classic designs that elevate the everyday, a skill that has been effortlessly weaved into her fashion ventures. Launching her first label in 2015, womenswear brand THE A-LINE, Maartensz focused on femininity through luxurious fabrics, sleek finishes and timeless silhouettes. That core ethos, and mission, continued through to the brand founder’s second business, Avant Studio, founded alongside friend and fellow entrepreneur, Briella Brown. The pair, combining their complementing skills and passion for brand building, have developed one of Australia’s most loved jewellery labels — and they’re only just getting started.

Avant Studio’s designs are not only created with a practicality that sees each and every piece fit expertly into modern jewellery collections, they’re finished with a sophisticated edge that makes them truly stand out. Plus, thanks to Maartensz and Brown’s expertise, the brand has figured out its niche — personalised pieces that are classically cool, simple, and statement-making. From signature letter necklaces to a cult Zodiac collection and stunning birthstones, each piece is designed to be mix-and-matched to suit any individual aesthetic.

Here, Maartensz takes time away as creative director of Avant Studio to share a few of her current fashion, beauty and homeware faves.

“I would describe my individual style as… classic, modern, European.”

“This season, my uniform has been very Parisian chic — blue jeans, striped top, camel coat and white sneakers.”

“I’m currently lusting after… a Chloe woven tote bag."

“My current go to’s are the River Hoops (they work with every outfit), and my Sagittarius Zodiac necklace stacked with the April Birthstone necklace.”

“Other than gemstones, there is a serious silver resurgence happening. We’ve dabbled in silver and mixed metals earlier in the year... but watch this space!”

“My Hourglass bronzer, I’m fiercely loyal.”

“I’ve recently consolidated my skincare routine, as less is often more. I start with a Medik8 oil cleanser and then use a Niacinamide serum from The Ordinary and Clinique 100 hour for moisturiser. I recently purchased an Omnilux LED Mask that I use 10 mins a day, I’m obsessed.”

“Three makeup staples I can't live without include a good base foundation — to even out skin tone; Cream blush — to make me look alive and that can also be used as a shadow or lip tint; Brow Wax — because I love the fluffy brow trend.”
