New York Fashion Week is done and dusted for another season, but not without leaving some seriously enviable fashion and beauty moments behind.
Keep scrolling to see just a few of our favourite trends to be spotted across the runways, from hair ribbons at Mirror Palais and Christian Siriano to big, bold sequins at Sergio Hudson and Kate Spade.
Sheer Brilliance
If you thought fashion was done with baring all — think again. For New York’s SS24 presentations, designers didn’t stray from sheer fabrics, with the likes of Coach, Christian Siriano, and Eckhaus Latta among the many who weren’t afraid to go bold. From barely-there dresses to subtle sheens, it was all about skin-baring silhouettes.
Ribbons Upon Ribbons
Whether it was the subtle ballerina details at Christian Siriano, the hand-dyed chiffon-filled braids at Collina Strada, or Mirror Palais' stunning loose bows, it seems ribbons were all the rage this NYFW. Lucky for us, we can take a few pointers for our own spring hair looks.
The Return Of The Peplum
Remember the peplum tops of the 2000's? Well, they're back according to New York Fashion Week. From Ulla Johnson to Jason Wu and Prabal Gurung, peplum silhouettes were spotted roaming down runways, paired with matching skirts, pants, and even sheer details.
Big, Bold Sequins
Prepare to sparkle this season, because it looks like sequins are preparing to enter our wardrobes. Colin LoCascio's 3D tops offered a fun, fresh take on the textile, while Sergio Hudson and Kate Spade went for striking colour-blocking.
Wet Hair
Forget styling your hair to perfection with all your tools, and instead, opt for slick and shiny-looking tresses. Maybe inspired by New York's rain, it seemed all the runways looked to wet styles, whether it was Khaite's perfectly messy, just-got-out-of-the-shower buns or Anna Sui's mermaid-esque curls.
